This week's episode just exemplified Michael Scott's shallow outlook on women and his inability to maintain a relationship of any kind. As soon as Michael heard that Pam's mom was turning 58, he immediately grew to dislike his relationship with her because of her age.
The writers seemed to make a good point through Michael's example. One thing about a person can completely make up some one's mind about that person. Regardless if it really changes that person or not.
